A mine explosion occurred in Placer County, Northern California, resulting in two people being seriously injured. The incident happened just after 9:41 a.m. on Mosquito Ridge Road at Gorman Ranch Road. A 24-year-old gang member, Justin Arteaga, also known as "Hitta," was convicted on July 2 for the murder of a Gardena man that occurred nearly four years ago. Arteaga was found guilty of one count of felony theft and is associated with the Gardena 13 "trese" street gang, which is reportedly under the influence of the Mexican Mafia.
